Recently, my friends around me are going a step forward in their relationship. My colleague is getting married next month (not tat he planned it, if u know what I mean *wink*). Another friend just proposed to his long time girl friend while they were touring US. My other friends are talking about their two yrs plan, five yrs plan, etc. And it left me wondering, where do we go from here?

Although our relationship has been stable, we haven't spoke about our future. So today, over lunch, I sort of brought it up casually, telling him that I don't intend to get married in the short term, at least 6 more years. My reasoning was that we are both young, and that we will have more chances to explore in our career if we are not tied down. I still have dreams of seeing the world, maybe working abroad for a few years. Marriage seems like the last thing on my mind right now. He accepted it, and said that maybe it's a good thing; if we can't survive these few more years as a couple, how do we guarantee a life time together? Who knows? My mentality may change in less than 6 years time.
